Our furniture is made exclusively from native hardwoods grown in sustainably managed forests. We use formaldehyde-free glues and finish the surface with herbal oils. The wood's natural aesthetic appeal and valuable properties are preserved in this way. Pure wood lives and breathes. It contributes decisively to a room's healthy, pleasant climate, for it absorbs moisture and smells, and it is anti-static as well as dust-repellent.

Furniture made from natural wood is therefore particularly recommended for allergy-sufferers. Our oils are supplied by leading manufacturers whose products are declared in full, thus ensuring transparency.

To eliminate pollutants in the living environment, all incoming wood is tested for radioactivity, a procedure which we have applied consistently ever since the disaster in Chernobyl. Furniture made from natural wood is not only healthy to live in, but also very easy to care for. A sanding pad and herbal oil is all that is needed to let the wood look as good as new at any time.

True luxury is defined by quality, tradition and the crafts. Processing wood in such a way as to create durable furniture of constant value requires great skill and a profound knowledge of this natural material. Correct processing of the wood material starts with careful selection of the individual wood species and correct felling of the trees. It continues with correct storage and gentle seasoning of the wood before the furniture is manufactured and assembled by experienced carpenters. All this takes place in our own local production.

More than 60 percent of our production staff are carpenters with a sound knowledge of their trade. Robust wood constructions, dovetail and finger-jointed connections as well as drawers with square dovetail joints all bear witness to this tradition. Metal connections are avoided wherever possible and the surfaces are finished with herbal oil. This leaves the pores of the precious wood open so the material can continue to breathe. Its unique sensual quality can be felt with every touch. A profound knowledge of the material is needed in order to preserve the wood's positive characteristics while at the same time taming its primeval forces so that it does not warp.

With their love of wood, our soundly trained employees produce high-quality boards of natural wood in our own panel factory. Their trained eye puts together the different panels to create a perfectly harmonious surface. Their craftsmanship produces an aesthetic item pulsating with life that never loses its special appeal.

Every tree carries its history within its heart. Annual rings, small inclusions, knots and the intensive interaction of colours are all traces of its life, creating a unique and unmistakable pattern. We use seven hardwoods from sustainably managed forests: walnut, cherry, oak, maple, beech heartwood, beech and alder. Each one of these has its own unique character.

Their aura changes completely, depending on the species of wood and its surface treatment. All our designs are inspired by this variety, a gift of nature. Our designers communicate with nature in a creative process and mould the wood into its most beautiful form. In our factory, the precious natural material is carefully sorted by hand by specially trained women who paint with wood and create surfaces of unrivalled beauty with a harmonious wood image. That is why every piece of furniture made from natural wood is a unique item from the very beginning.

Furniture made-to-measure is the perfect and ultimate expression of personality. Our claim is to give each customer exactly the furniture that suits them best. Between 700 and 1000 customer orders leave our factory every week, for just as many different rooms. The key to making personal lifestyle dreams come true lies in the meeting with our competent furnishing planners: they understand the customers' wishes and that is all that matters.

None of our products are "off the rail"; everything is produced purely on the basis of a specific order. Individuality starts with the material itself. Our own panel factory supplies many different types of wood allowing us to meet every wish, no matter how exclusive. For the furniture as such, we can fall back on a seemingly inexhaustible range with almost three million varieties. Size, form and function, format and fronts – everything can be defined individually.

The wealth of possibilities even includes custom designs. We produce accurately fitting furniture in line with demands for all living areas: kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms and rooms for kids / young people. The furniture's decisive personal touch results from the individually defined interaction of form, function and aesthetics.

Respect for people and nature is a fundamental element of our corporate philosophy. Local production allows us to control the entire supply chain, assuring the high quality of our furniture and guaranteeing fair, ecological production. Ensuring top quality when processing the wood contributes significantly to protecting our environment, for only those things that are durable and of lasting beauty are truly sustainable.

All our furniture is made entirely from high-grade natural wood and finished with solvent-free herbal oil, with the result that it can subsequently be returned to the natural cycle. Our wood stems from European forests managed in accordance with the principles of sustainable forest management and subject to strict forest legislation. What's more, our suppliers are contractually obliged to supply only wood from sustainably managed forests. This is also verified continuously. It goes without saying that we do not use any tropical woods.

The wood chips accumulated during production are used to heat our factory. We have regularly been awarded the Austrian ecology mark for many years for our ecological and sustainable production. With EMAS, the strict European environment protection regulations have been integrated into our management system. The progress made in protecting the environment is checked and evaluated by an independent institute. Our efforts are summarized and documented in our environmental report.

For decades, our company has stood for a conscious and sensitive approach to nature, man and the environment. Back in the 1980s, the company's founder Erwin Berghammer struck out in a new direction and focused on ecological production, knowing that depleting nature's resources would destroy the foundations of life for future generations.

Success can only be assured in the long term by sustainable management that never forgets the dignity of man and the integrity of nature. This awareness is consistently upheld by the company; for more than a decade, it has been guaranteed by its proprietor and managing director Dr. Georg Emprechtinger, whose credo is that entrepreneurial action must be financially successful and based on morality and ethics. Long-term success can only be based on long-term decisions and not on short-term capital-mindedness.

The company's production director Hermann Pretzl takes great care to ensure that wood resources are used economically. Personal responsibility for the undertaking extends from the tree to the finished furniture, thus assuring the company's high quality claim throughout the entire supply chain. Run by the family since 1959, we will also maintain our independence in the future too, with satisfied customers and sound profits.
