After receiving his title of Master of Joinery, Erwin Berghammer set the cornerstone of his future career by purchasing a small wood working company in Ried, Austria, at the age of 26.

The first high-gloss lacquered furnitur line, manufactured in serial production, was introduced in 1964. At this time unique in Austria.

Success depends on people - this was already true in 1965. The name TEAM 7 was based on the number of management team members. The foundation for the brand was created.

Production capacity had to be extended rapidly. A new facility in 1963, another one in 1965 and in 1970, the size had to be doubled again.

Starting in 1967 the ready-to-assemble pine furniture line Happy 7 was introduced and became an instant and huge success in Germany.

The economic downturn in the 70's forced TEAM 7 to rethink the strategy. Trying to do things differently TEAM 7 focused on "eco" furniture. Alder was used for the first time.

Opus 1 in Alder, a solid wood furniture line for all situations, was introduced in Austria, Switzerland and Germany in 1982. Revenue began growing again quickly.

Half of the company was destroyed in a fire on December 12th 1985. All ready to ship furnishings for the Eco Hotel Dungl in Gars/Austria were destroyed.

The fast growing need for solid wood panels required further expansion. In 1991 the solid wood panel manufacturer Alfa in Pram/Austria was built.

Increasing problems with the supply of high quality, solid wood raw materials lead to the opening of the NHT sawmill in Borsfa/Hungary in 1992.

With the opening of its own showroom in Wels/Austria in 1994, TEAM 7 was able to learn directly from the consumer. Success depends on several key factors: Excellent service by professional and enthusiastic staff, outstanding products creating enthusiastic customers, and focused marketing.

In 1994 Assmann, TEAM 7's supplier for kitchens, filed for bankruptcy. In order to protect 70 jobs and with it the production of kitchen furniture, TEAM 7 decided to take over the supplier.

On September 7th, 1999, exactly 40 years after the company's foundation, Erwin Berghammer hands the responsibilities of CEO over to Dr. Georg Emprechtinger. On September 7th 2004 Dr. Georg Emprechtinger takes over 49% of the company.

On September 7th, 2006 Dr. Georg Emprechtinger takes over the remaining 51% of TEAM 7 and becomes the sole owner.

TEAM 7 celebrates on the 7th of September it's 50th anniversary.
